The celebration marked the conclusion of National Teachers’ Month 2026 and coincided with the tenth anniversary of the Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) Program. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Education Secretary Sonny Angara led the gathering of approximately 10,000 teachers during this event.

Who is affected
The celebration involved educators from the National Capital Region and other parts of Luzon, as well as teachers in Mindanao and Visayas who participated in regional celebrations. The DepEd is also implementing these changes for all public teachers.
What teachers should do
Public teachers can start receiving the PHP1,000 World Teachers’ Day Incentive Benefit starting October 5. Furthermore, teachers can pursue career advancement through the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) System, where 82,105 teachers and principals have already been promoted.
